MY BEST FRIEND AND I HAVE BEEN EXERCISING AT THE GYM FOR SOME TIME ALREADY. You can also see us jogging around early in the morning. And it has been paying off quite handsomely. For a pair of fifty-year-old-something senior citizen, we can proudly boast of being fit and trim. We can even play basketball against the youngsters in our area. Many compliment us for looking young. A lot of our friends swear to it. It was definitely not like this before. We never thought we would be doing this. We never really cared if what we are doing are causes of cellulites and fats. What’s important is we get to be drunk while eating those rich and spicy foods. Many of our friends drop by and join our many drinking sessions.
Once day everything changed. I got a call from the wife of my best friend. My best friend is in the hospital. They have to admit him because his blood pressure is critically high. When I visited him, I learned he almost died. If he had arrived much later in the hospital, then he might have died from a stroke. I sat there, dazed with all tat had happened, looking at my friend with all those tubes dangling around him. To see my friend in this state is so distressing and painful. Those sagging muscles and cellulites seemed so much pronounced today. And it hit me. All those disregard to our health, all the warning bells we have not heeded. Our body really looks bad and neglected. Now we are being made to pay. We never thought of exercising. We loved eating all those greasy and fatty foods. The causes of cellulites, fats and carbohydrates are just given passing thought. We both looked old and pathetic. Unless we give up on drinking and the merry life, we will really die, sooner or later.
During his stay at the hospital, my friend have been thinking about it also. He too wanted to start getting fit and healthy. Little by little we jogged in the morning. We started eating healthy foods. We learned to watch our diet. Most specially foods that’s known causes of cellulites, fats and carbohydrates. We build up our muscles by exercising and lifting weights. No more cellulites and sagging muscles. Our drinking session have totally stopped.
We are very happy that after only a few months, we are already reaping the rewards of our hardwork. We really felt as we are reborn with a new, slimmer and fitter body. Already, we have already lost the unwanted pounds. We felt really good and proud of ourselves and our body. We can never be seen drunk again. We are now the model of physical fitness. We have reached out to all our other friends. We now see each other always – in the gym or in the streets, jogging.
