Proper skin care is something that both men and women should do regularly. Many men view skin care as “girly” and consider any care outside of some basic soap and water to be “too much bother.” The truth is that each person should take steps to protect his or her skin from the elements (especially the sun)! While it is true that men’s skin seems to be more durable than women’s skin, there is no reason to believe that a man’s skin is invincible. Men experience acne, breakouts and other skin problems. So, proper skin care is just as imperitive for men as it is for women. This article give some easy skin care tips for men to help them start taking proper care of their skin.
Shave more than every couple of days. That “sexy” 5 o’clock shadow is actually a garden for zits and other breakouts. As your skin secretes oils out onto the hair which grows from your head, this is the case (regardless of where it is on your head that it comes out). So, under that beard is a pool of oil collecting on the skin and clogging your pores. Sure the beard might cover it up-but there might come a point in time when you want to shave that beard. Beyond being able to see those zits and pimples that the beard hid, you will be more likely to cut yourself shaving that beard. Don’t ever use water that is too hot or super cold. Make sure your water is either lukewarm or comfortably warm. If you use water that is too hot you could scald your face, which can cause uncomfortable peeling and scarring later. Using water that is too cold can burst the sensitive capillaries that crisscross your face. Some people like to refresh or revive themselves by splashing cool water on their face, but if it is too cold, then it will damage your skin. Test the water before it touches your face!
Think about a good exfoliating procedure several instances per week. Since they shave and this helps to do the job, men really do not require as much exfoliating as do women (the majority of women do not shave their faces too often). Helping your skin to appear younger, you should employ a mild exfoliating agent several times every week. Exfoliating is a great way to slough off old and dead cells that might otherwise find their way into your pores, cause clogs and make you more susceptible to breakouts. Men’s skin care – or skin care in general – is not a difficult task. You should feel less than manly because you want to properly care for your skin. Taking care of your skin is an easy and uncomplicated process. These tips can help you develop a skin care regimen that is right for you.
